With the development of more than 50 new or nearly new programmes for UCL EAST, there is a great window of opportunity to design inclusive learning experiences for UCL EAST students from the bottom up. As programme designers, this means that we can engage in a collaborative, proactive and anticipatory approach which adopts a much wider and holistic reach to focus in on design as well as delivery.
You are invited to participate in this UCL EAST programme design workshop which brings together a range of UCL perspectives on inclusive design, from cutting edge research into design in the inclusivity field to UCL’s Inclusive Curriculum Healthcheck. This will be a cross-disciplinary workshop offering a number of lenses on how inclusive design as a cross-cutting theme can help inform the design of great programmes for UCL EAST.
The workshop will cover topics relevant to design including:
Disability, Design and Innovation, a UCL EAST programme  Cathy Holloway and Tim Adlam, Global Disability Hub  Inclusive Design in Arts and Making, a UCL EAST programme Kieren Read, Head of Department, Slade School of Fine Art Inclusive assessment Jenny Griffiths, Associate Director in the UCL Arena Centre for Research-based Education Neurodiversity Sarah-Louise Quinnell, Programme Director for How to Change the World, STEaPP Inclusive design and cross-disciplinary learning  Abel Nyamapfene, Principal Teaching Fellow - Integrated Engineering Programme Inclusive Curriculum Healthcheck  Julie Evans, Faculty Tutor Brain Sciences and Co-Lead BME Attainment project

The workshop will provide a creative space to identify opportunities arising out of these crossdisciplinary lenses in inclusive design to benefit future UCL EAST students. The outputs of these discussions can inform your own curriculum development activity for UCL EAST as well as the creation of practical guides to help promote a shared approach to designing inclusive learning experiences.
The session is open to all UCL EAST programme leaders, teaching Fellows, Faculty Tutors as well as those from across UCL. Please feel free to sign up by email to Anne anne.preston@ucl.ac.uk or, if you have already received your outlook invite, accept it and forward it to any interested colleagues.
