CAA is a partner in DELPHI - "Development of Continuing Professional Development for Heritage Interpretation to facilitate Lifelong Learning for Social Inclusion and European Cohesion" a new Erasmus + project, launched in November 2018, that will train cultural heritage interpreters to draw on Europe's values and identity at a local and regional level. The target group includes cultural heritage interpreters, but it is aimed at Europe's diverse communities. The project will develop a qualification framework in line with EQF, using blended learning, providing training materials and a validation system for its learning outcomes.
This partnership is led by the German Institute for Adult Education, together with the Landcommanderij of Alden Beisen Mediterranean Centre for the Environment, Blended Learning Institutions Cooperative (Blinc), Associazione Culturale Imago Mundi, Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg and the Centre for Applied Archaeology, UCL. Volunteer participants from Belgium, Germany, Greece, Holland and the UK signed up for the pilot training at the end of 2019, took part in the training in January and February 2020 and started their 5-month pilot projects after that. Projects include ways of involving rural communities in safeguarding and interpreting their intangible heritage, co-devised walking tours of historic centres, local interpretation plans for landscape heritage, and democracy 'labs' implementing the Council of Europe's Faro Convention.
