Events and workshops

We offer a wide range of events which can help improve your knowledge of a particular industry sector or about specific employers as well as talks and workshops to help you develop key skills such as: effective job hunting; networking; writing applications; interview techniques and many others. Most events require advance booking so follow the links below for more information on:

  • Career Essentials Programme: A series of Careers Consultant led talks covering topics such as career planning, job hunting, networking, writing applications and preparing for interviews and assessment centres (Autumn and Spring terms).
  • Sector Insight Events: A chance to network with professionals from a range of other sectors popular with UCL students to explore options, potential career paths and routes in (Autumn and Spring terms).
  • Employer Presentations (Autumn and Spring Terms): Talks by individual companies to give you the opportunity to learn more about different types of jobs available and what's happening in sectors you're interested in from those working in them.
  • Careers Fairs: A chance to network with large numbers of major graduate recruiters from sectors popular with UCL students and ask informally about current opportunities and what it's like to work in the sector (Autumn Term). Plus, a Careers in China Fair for students seeking graduate-level employment in China (Spring Term). Lastly, taking place in June 2023, the Jobs Market is aimed at students from all degree disciplines looking to secure summer internships or graduate roles with immediate starts (Summer Term).
  • Employer-led skills workshops and panel talks: A series of employer-led events to help you learn more about key skills required by most graduate recruiters across a range of sectors and how to develop these whilst at University.
  • Researchers programme: For Research Students and Staff, we run a range of events to help you with next steps whether you're planning to stay in academia or moving to the workplace
