UCL Careers is working with a variety of employers to encourage them to recruit exclusively from UCL. This involves finding out about their internships, advertising them to students and shortlisting suitable applications based on the employers' requirements. This ensures that employers receive the best quality applications and allows you to access opportunities that aren't widely advertised elsewhere.
Some of the exclusive opportunities undertaken by UCL students in the past include:
- English Teaching Intern at in Spain and in Vietnam
- Business Development Intern at a small tech company in Germany
- Brand Strategy and Innovation Intern at a consultancy in Hong Kong
- Growth Marketing Intern at a logistics company in Singapore
- Cross-Cultural Communications Intern at a higher education institution in Japan
Since 2024, we have also started working with the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation to source summer internship opportunities in Hong Kong for UCL students as part of the HKSTP Global Internship Programme.
For 2025 HKSTP Summer internships, we are mainly looking for students from Engineering, Computer Science and Life Science disciplines. Students from other disciplines are welcome to apply too, depending on the nature of the role and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. These summer internship opportunities are open to all students (Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught and Research), as well as recent graduates, unless otherwise specified in the vacancy.
For successful applicants, HKSTP will offer:
- Monthly salary of a minimum of HKD$11,190
- Free accommodation for student interns who are not local to Hong Kong (subject to HKSTP's discretion)
- Travel allowance capped at HKD$6,240 for student interns who are not local to Hong Kong and who are not in receipt of any university grant or subsidy for the opportunity such as the Turing Grant or the Global Experience Bursary (subject to HKSTP's discretion), new for 2025!
- Subsidised activities (e.g. Tech Tour, Greater Bay Area visit, networking events, CEO luncheon etc)

Summer internship opportunities for Summer 2025 with the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation will be available on myUCLCareers Talent Bank (international) for students to apply from mid December 2024 and application will close in mid January 2025. We may close early or extend applications for certain roles depending on demand and there may potentially be a second round for a few more opportunities, all subject to availabilities and information provided by the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation. For these specific summer opportunities, all final decisions are made by the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation.
