How to apply for Focus on Management 2017

Applications are now open for this course!

To be considered for Focus you must be available for both days of the course and complete a short application form when you register for the course online.

Apply now:

Simply log in to your myUCL CAREERS* account to register.

To complete the registration, you will need to answer the following two questions:

  1. Why should I be selected for Focus on Management?
  2. If successful in your application, in what ways will participating in the course benefit your career thinking and ambitions?

You should use your answers, (maximum 200 words per question), to tell us what attributes you have that you think will make a positive contribution to the course, and how you have developed them in your past experiences. Note that you don’t need to have previous business experience, Focus is your chance to change that!

You may also want to save your completed answers first to then copy / paste into the online application form when you register.

All completed applications must be submitted by: Midnight on Monday 01st May 2017

Confirming your place:

After all application forms have been reviewed, we will confirm places with successful applicants by Monday 15th May.

You will then need to visit UCL Careers to pay a returnable £20 cash deposit to secure your place on the course.

We will then send you more detailed joining instructions including a programme for both days and venue details, (the course will take place at UCL).

*Note: If you are using your "MyUCLCareers" account for the first time, please read the Logging In Instructions. If you're experiencing problems uploading your application or need assistance to do so, please contact us immediately - we are happy to help you get set up.

Things to Consider

Please check your availability before you apply. You need to be able to attend both full days of the course.

Also, be aware we always have more applications than their are places so there is a chance you may not be successful. To make the application process as fair as possible, we don’t assess any applications until after the closing date has passed.

However, we do advise you to make your application as soon as possible!

Once you have applied, we will be in touch if you have been accepted on to the course, and provide you with further details.

We will ask that you pay a £20 deposit which will be refunded after you've completed the course.

You have up until a week before the first day of the course to claim your deposit back if you decide you can't attend and cancel your place.

This course is open to all UCL students regardless of year and discipline, and recent UCL Graduates (within two years).
