About the Workshop
The Study UK Career Development Workshop is designed to provide Chinese students currently studying at UK universities with up to date information about China’s job market, trends of industrial development, employer expectations, and the recruitment process that China-based employers usually follow for returning graduates. The workshop will also include UK job market information sharing and advice on looking for a job in the UK.
The main format of the workshops will be keynote speeches, panel discussions, and live Q&A sessions between the students and speakers.
This is the only London workshop of this Study UK development series.
Speakers
The British Council, in partnership with LinkedIn China, has invited speakers who are senior managers and HR directors from leading international Chinese companies representing a diverse range of industries. Companies include:
- LinkedIn China
- MOVA TECH
- Xiaopeng Motors
- TCL
- ANTA
- Zhuimi
- GradLink
Speakers will also include alumni representatives who are developing their career in the UK.
Discussion topics
Topics of discussion will cover:
- Insights into China’s job market and current development trends
- Talents preferred by top employers in China
- Strengths and weaknesses of returning graduates in the job market
- Experience and skills development
- Process and conditions of recruitment
- Preparing for the job hunt and interviews
Essential information
This workshop will be delivered mainly in Mandarin.
Valid student ID will be required for entry to the venue.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the event start time to ensure that we can begin promptly. Attendees arriving after the start time may no longer be able to join the event.
