Want to solve a real-life industry problem in a multi-disciplinary team? Do you want a flexible career development opportunity which can fit around your busy summer schedule?

Part of UCL’s ExtendED Learning Programme, the Nano projects activity runs for two weeks across June. With project briefs sourced from real-world organisations by our delivery partner Practera, this opportunity can be fit around your schedule across a two week time period.

This opportunity is open to all students. We especially welcome applications from those with no prior work experience.

The Nano projects will run online for 25 hours from Monday 2nd – Sunday 15th June, with an in person orientation event on Thursday 29th May, an online briefing on 2nd June, and a post project evaluation online on 17th June. We will have up to 150 spots, with some places ring fenced for Careers Extra students.

What will I be doing?

  • Working remotely as a student consultant team across different year groups and disciplines, responding to a real business challenge.
  • Receiving a digital badge and certificate upon successful completion of the project.
  • Accessing supportive content and tasks through a gamified learning platform.
  • Interacting with a real international employer and receiving industry feedback on your work.
  • Presenting your findings in a professional report.
  • Completing market research and analysis for your client. This might be improving your client’s sustainability, sharing trends and insights for business growth, bringing together an effective marketing strategy or supporting your client’s growth in a new geography.

Not sure yet? Come to this information session to find out more. We’ll cover the basics of what to expect from the opportunity, insight into the application process, and advice on getting the most out of the experience.
