Dreaming of a career in TV & Film? Intrigued about what it takes to create media that grabs the attention of viewers on the big and small screens? Then join UCL Careers for our panel event on November 30th to hear directly from professionals working in the sector.
Our Film and TV Careers panel event is an opportunity to find out what it takes to launch your career in the world of Television Production. The session will take place on Thursday 30th November, 5:30pm-7pm on Teams.
At the event you will have a chance to speak to our panellists directly and ask questions. The discussion will focus on the panellists’ entry route into a career in TV & Film, necessary skills in the field, and take a look into the different roles available in the sector.
Speakers include:
Sarah Lavender – Line Producer at ITN:
Sarah has worked in studio production since the late nineties, managing many well-known and long-running entertainment productions such as 'Have I Got News for You', 'So Graham Norton', and many others for major broadcasters. With experience in location filming as well as corporate and branded content, Sarah is currently a Line Producer at ITN where she leads the Production team across 4 hours of daily live programming for Channel 5.
Laide Sadiq – TV producer working in documentaries and factual television
Laide has a passion for passion for working on programmes with great contributors and strong storytelling at their core. She has worked alongside award-winning execs, directors, and editors. She has been picked as Edinburgh TV Festival Ones to Watch in 2022.
Selina Osei – Freelance Production Manager:
Selina is a TV production manager, credits has over 10 years’ experience in the TV industry credits include in 'Love & Toxic: Blue Therapy', 'Geordie Shore' and 'The Apprentice'.
Osman Ahmed – Researcher and Journalist
Osman is currently working on shows such as 'The Jonathan Ross Show' and 'Celebrity Juice'. He has previously worked for the BBC Arabic Service and in marketing.
Kyoka Seguchi – Freelance camera trainee and freelance translator for Pulse Films.
A recent UCL graduate, Kyoka is a camera trainee and also translates for film (subtitles, transcriptions, etc) on the side. As she works freelance, she is always on the lookout for the next project to be involved in.
