International Development Sector Insight Event: Disaster Risk Reduction Workshop, 22 Mar

Book your place on this practical and interactive workshop run by UCL alumnus Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) specialist Mayleen Cabral (Partnerships Officer at United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction) where you'll get first-hand experience of working within the DRR space. You'll be exposed to a real-life disaster scenario and work through a case study strategic planning exercise in teams, not only equipping you with the skills relevant to the field but also giving you an exclusive insight into the typical day of a Disaster Risk Reduction professional.  

The workshop will cover:

• Introduction to: Mayleen's career and education background 
• Overview of DRR field
• Group case study exercise: 
  • Introduction to scenario 
  • Scenario Analysis 
  • Project Design
  • Conclusions & Wrap-Up

Please note, this session will not be recorded due to the interactive nature of the workshop. To take part in the workshop, students must be signed onto the session by 6.30 pm at the latest - anybody trying to access the workshop anytime after 6.30 pm will not be admitted in order to minimise disruption to the group exercise.
