What can you expect from our first Media Insight event?

We are hosting a special panel discussion looking at the future of the industry with a focus on Digital Media careers. Featuring alumni and professionals working in areas such as Digital Marketing, Podcasting and Social Media,  this discussion will offer an insight into the variety of roles in this space, the key skills required for future media careers as well as general tips for getting into the industry.  

Confirmed speakers include:

Matthew Chew - (UCL Alumni, German with Management Studies, 2017) has worked in various digital and social media roles at GroupM agency MediaCom. He joined through their Digital Executive graduate scheme, before taking a full-time role in and progressing through the world of Paid Social, working on a number of innovative and award-winning campaigns. Almost five years later, Matthew is now Paid Social Innovation Lead within MediaCom’s Influencer Marketing department, working on strategy and implementation of creator marketing for clients such as Mars Confectionery, The Coca-Cola Company, Boots, Sky, Adidas, Ebay, Uber, and more. Alongside his day-job, Matthew is also Communications Lead for WPP Unite – WPP’s network-wide LGBTQ+ community.

Tim Phillips - (UCL Alumni, Economic Policy MSc, 2012) Host of VoxTalks Economics and VoxDevTalks Development Economics podcasts, business/economics writer and editor. Tim works as a freelance journalist, and has written for prestigious newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal and The Guardian. He has been presenting his own podcast for the last 6 years.

Senni Whitaker - (University of Utrecht, International Marketing BA, 2017) Digital Senior Marketing Executive, Together TV. Senni has been working in marketing since graduating, including working at Channable in the Netherlands before moving to London to work for Together TV, beginning as a content marketing coordinator before working her way up to her current position as senior marketing executive.

Amarie Cassidy - (UCL Alumni, BASc 2019) Freelance Social Media & Digital Consultant currently at ASOS. Amarie has had an eclectic freelance career in media, including working in digital marketing at Sony Music, social media management for the Tate gallery, hosting and producing an online gaming show for GRM Daily, and her current work managing social media campaigns for ASOS.
