International Development Week is a series of events run by UCL Career giving you the opportunity to hear from those working in the industry. Through our panel events and webinars you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the variety of roles available to graduates in the sector, find out how the industry has been impacted by the events of the past 10 months and hear from UCL Alumni who work in the sector.

An introduction to the sector and how to make the most of the week
Monday 1 February, 1-2pm
Careers Consultant Glyn Jones will present information on graduate opportunities within the international development sector as well as highlighting some of the potential benefits of the events coming up within the week and how you can make the most of these sessions.
International Economic Development: Impact of Covid on the sector and career stories
Tuesday 2 February, 6-7.30pm
International Economic Development organizations will be central in this disrupted world economy due to the pandemic. Panellists from institutions like the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the World Bank, the Centre for Global Development and the UN Economic Commission for Europe join us for this online panel event. Speakers will discuss the impact of Covid on the work they are doing and the career outlook in their organisations as well as share their own personal career stories.
Pathways into International Development
Wednesday 3 February, 6-7.30pm
Join employees from the Civil Service, Mott MacDonald and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as they discuss some of the roles relating to international development within their organisations. Find out about the graduate opportunities within the sector and the different career pathways within these organisations.
Connecting with UCL Alumni Working in International Development
Thursday 4 February, 6-7.30pm
UCL Alumni with experience at the Red Cross, Global Partnerships for Education, ACTED Nigeria and the World Health Organisation will be taking part in this panel event. Hear from our speakers about their career journey and the steps they took to work within International Development after they graduated from UCL.
