Meet the UCL Careers team

UCL Careers is dedicated to providing excellent service to UCL students and graduates. We hold appointments focusing on a range of topics, organise and implement events, manage internship schemes and work with employers to ensure we have a plethora of exciting and varied job opportunities available.

Director's Office

The Director's office is made up of our Director, Karen Barnard, as well as Data Analyst Katy Coyte.

The Information team are responsible for ensuring students and alumni are able to make use of our various services...

Engagement & Partnerships Team

Our Engagement & Partnerships Team includes business development, employer and alumni engagement, and marketing communications. The team builds relationships with a wide range of employers for career events and promotion of work opportunities, manages our alumni volunteer and opportunity development, and is responsible for internal and external marketing and promotion. 

School of Management Team

School of Management students benefit from dedicated Careers support via our experienced team of Careers Consultants and Employer Engagement Professionals.

IOE & SLASH Team

The IOE & SLASH team supports the career development of UCL students from the IOE, Arts & Humanities, Social & Historical Sciences, and Laws.

This support is provided via in-person or online departmental talks, workshops, and employer events.  These are organised in conjunction with the departmental careers tutor, along with signposting students to details of relevant internships and graduate jobs.

BEAMS & UCL East Team

The BEAMS team supports the career development of UCL students from The School of the Built Environment (The Bartlett), the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MAPS) as well as leading on the career provision at UCL East campus. The team supports BEAMS and UCL East students through 1:1 coaching, tailored careers workshops and employer events and sourcing relevant internships and graduate opportunities.

Researchers & LMS Team

The LMS team supports the career development of UCL students from The Faculty of Brain Sciences, The Faculty of Life Sciences, The Faculty of Medical Sciences and The Faculty of Population Health Sciences. This support is provided through 1:1 coaching, workshops and webinars with alumni and employers and by producing tailored online resources.

Recruitment & Selection Advice Team

The Recruitment & Selection Advice team run one-to-one appointments and group sessions to support students with their applications for work opportunities and further study. 

Careers Extra

The Careers Extra team provides a programme of additional careers support for UK undergraduate students from a range of diverse backgrounds and situations, including first in family to go to university, lower income households, Black students and students who received an Access UCL offer.  The team also works with Student Support & Wellbeing to support students with disabilities and long term health conditions.
