Full details of the grant holders, biocurators, editors, software engineers and scientific advisors involved in various projects are listed below, along with supporting societies and groups.
The UCL annotation team is based in the Research Department of Preclinical and Fundamental Science and within the UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences (ICS). We are reliant on our collaborations, both within UCL, at other universities and at EMBL-EBI, as well as our membership of the Gene Ontology and International Molecular Exchange Consortiums.

MSc Students
As part of the UCL Genetics Institute's MSc in Genetics of Human Disease, students are required to complete a project consisting of an original piece of research. The Functional Gene Annotation Team offer bioinformatics-based projects that provide MSc and iBSc students with experience in a variety of bioinformatic resources. In addition, the students contribute valuable GO annotations.
- Annotation Volunteers
Having attended our Bioinformatics and Gene Ontology Annotation Workshop, the following attendees decided to continue to submit annotations to the GO database:
- Andrea Townsend-Nicholson (UCL)
- Mathew Tata (UCL)
- Jonathan Watkins (Birkbeck College)
- Raffaele Ferrari (UCL)
- David Gregory (UCL)
- Helen Jones (UCL)
- Janos Kriston-Vizi (UCL)
- Thokchom Lellel (MIzoram University, India)
You can contribute by:
- Reviewing the annotation of your favourite gene and telling us what's missing or inaccurate (or tell us if we've done a good job!)
- Suggesting papers for curation.
Please email us: r.lovering@ucl.ac.uk. Alternatively you can contribute to GO by following the instructions on the GO Consortium or the EBI websites.
- Supporting Societies and Groups
We are thankful to the following learned societies and academic groups for their support of the Functional Gene Annotation effort.
