BCCP Facilities

Facilities at the Bloomsbury Centre for Clinical Phenotyping

The BCCP provides a high-quality clinical environment:

12 clinical rooms

In total we have twelve clinical rooms. Some house specialist equipment as outlined below and can be used for other means. Rooms without specialised equipment have a standard setup of a desk and PC, clinical bed, gloves and appropriate waste bins and basic storage. 

Basic laboratory

Our laboratory can be used for basic blood and other biolocial sample processing and storage. Equipment includes two centrifuges, a class II biolodical safety cabinet, barcode scanner and PC, under bench -80 freezer, fridge and storage.

DEXA scanner

Our DEXA scanner is located in a dedicated clinic room set up for scanning. The software used is the Hologic system.

Ultrasound machines

We have two philips EPIQ 7 machines. These can be moved to any of the 12 clinic rooms as neccessary. We have a range of Vascular and Cardiac probes including 3D .

Optical coherence tomography machine (OCT)

We have a dedicated room for a Topcon DRI OCT-1 Model Triton machine. We have the TOPCON Imagenet 6 software with a dedicated data collection PC.

Cardiopulmonary exercise testing equipment (CPET)

We have a COSMED Quark CPET metabolic cart system with a recumbent bike allowing for ECHO scanning during exercise. We are running the OMNIA software with integratted BP and ECG modules.

Meeting room 

We have a meeting room with the capacity for six people to meet comortably. The room includes a large screen with connect PC and has everything needed for video conferencing.
