New Director of UCL's Institute of Cardiovascular Science

We are delighted to announce that Professor Perry Elliott has been appointed as the Director of ICS, taking over from Professor Aroon Hingorani who has led ICS since its inception. On his appointment Professor Elliott said:

“It is a great honour to be appointed as Director of ICS and a privilege to follow in the footsteps of Aroon Hingorani who has so ably steered the Institute from a virtual concept into the exciting reality that we enjoy today. For decades, translational research and public health policies have impacted favourably on the burden of cardiovascular disease, but heart failure, sudden cardiac death and stroke remain the most important cause of ill health, disability and early death in all regions of the World. As Director of ICS, my goal will be to nurture and grow a vibrant and successful community of basic and clinical scientists dedicated to a better understanding of the fundamental mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases and their diagnosis, prevention and treatment. I look forward to working with everyone to make ICS one of the foremost cardiovascular institutes in the World.”
