Study provides new insights into the genetic architecture and pathogenesis of heart failure

Heart failure is a complex syndrome for which the causal basis is incompletely understood. Here, the authors perform a genome-wide association study and identify 11 loci, ten had not been previously reported, and appraise the aetiological contribution of observationally associated risk factors through Mendelian randomisation analysis.
