Consultant Cardiologist, Honorary Associate Professor at Children’s Cardiovascular Disease & Royal Free Centre for Cardiovascular Research, ICS

Dr Dan Knight

Title of Talk: Cardiovascular magnetic resonance-augmented right heart catheterisation (CMR-RHC)

Dr Dan Knight is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Associate Professor at the Institute of Cardiovascular Science, University College London (UCL). He has specialist interests in pulmonary hypertension and cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). His research involves the development of novel biomarkers in pulmonary hypertension and scleroderma using innovative magnetic resonance-based techniques. These include MR-guided right heart catheterization, MR-cardiopulmonary exercise testing and advanced CMR tissue characterization. He receives support for his work from the British Heart Foundation and the National Institute for Health Research UCLH Biomedical Research Centre.

Title of Talk: The role of caspase 1 and the pyroptosis cell death pathway in ischemia-reperfusion injury

I am a cardiology registrar in the London Deanery, currently taking time out of training to conduct research at the Hatter Cardiovascular Institute, working towards the award of a PhD. I undertook my undergraduate training at Imperial College London, which included an intercalated BSc at the National Heart and Lung Institute. I hope to complete my PhD and return to clinical training by the end of this year.

Dr Emilie Sauvage

Research Associate at Centre for Clinical Cardiovascular Engineering

Dr Emilie Sauvage

Title of Talk: Aorta remodeling of in patients born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome

I’m a postdoc with engineering background using computational simulation tools to study congenital heart cases.
