The ICS Research and Academic Networking Group (formerly Junior Faculty) brings together all members of staff from early post-doctoral level to reader/principal research associate.
The RANG supports early career researchers to collaborate across UCL, developing their careers whilst acquiring the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to further their roles within the Institute and beyond.
We also offer a platform for the junior members to share vision and ideas for the Institute, with regards to its organisation and administration. Members of the RANG are represented within the ICS Athena Swan initiative and the ICS Institute Management Board (IMB) meetings.
In addition, we organise events for staff such as networking initiatives and focused workshops.
The group is currently chaired by Shanie Budhram-Mahadeo.
The Department representatives at the RANG are currently:
- Sean Davidson (Pre-clinical and Fundamental Science)
- Victoria Garfield (Population Science and Experimental Medicine)
- Marta Futema and Chrysoula Dalageorgou (Clinical Science)
- Claudio Capelli (Children’s Cardiovascular Disease)
A group meeting is held every month in different locations of the ICS, to get updates from the IMB meetings, discuss organising events and other ICS issues.
