Bench-to-Bedside Mentorship Programme
The MSc Bench-to-Bedside Mentoring Programme is an interdisciplinary programme between the Division of Cancer and the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science.
It aims to familiarise current and prospective MSc and junior PhD students who are planning to undertake a laboratory-based dissertation project with the clinical side of research and to realise the translational potential of their research work.
Participating students will have a chance to interact with faculty and clinicians, providing a platform for discussing ideas and for fostering peer-to-peer mentorship opportunities.
How to get involved in the Bench-to-Bedside Mentoring Programme?
The programme is open to all current and prospective MSc and PhD students in the UCL Cancer Institute and the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science.
Please contact the respective MSc/PhD teaching teams or your graduate tutor for any questions about the programme.

Feedback from the 2019/2020 programme
The mentoring sessions provided me with clear guidance and direction with regards to my aspiration to pursue graduate medicine. Engaging with medics - from junior doctors to consultants - afforded me crucial insight into the roles played at each professional level of medicine. The bench-to-bedside mentoring sessions provide an open space to ask questions and discuss interesting ideas regarding cancer research and translational medicine, which Matt always enthusiastically welcomes!
Many thanks to our past faculty and mentors of the UCL-CI programme
