UCL Arena HEA: Fellowship Writing Retreats

UCL Arena have organised two separate one-day writing retreats for Faculty of Medical Sciences staff wishing to apply to become a Fellow, Senior Fellow or Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

Update: Due to the current situation with Covid-19, the physical retreats will be cancelled, but the proposal is to do a remote/on-line day instead. Further details will be available soon.

A HEA Fellowship is a highly recognised qualification for staff who teach or support students learning in higher education.  It is also recognised as part of the UCL promotion criteria.  All academic, teaching and professional services staff involved in teaching or supporting student learning at UCL are encouraged to consider applying to become a Fellow at the appropriate level.

The retreat will enable you to familiarise yourself with the award criteria, to receive one-to-one support and guidance and will provide the opportunity to work your application. Similar events have been held for the past two years and have been received very positively by FMS staff.

Which category of HEA Fellowship is right for you?

The Fellowship Category Tool has been designed to assist you in selecting the category of Fellowship that is the closest match to your current practice. Please register for an event at either the Royal Free or Bloomsbury campus:
