Extended Leave Support Fund
As part of its set of Athena SWAN initiatives, the Cancer Institute has ring-fenced £25,000 of funding per year to help support personnel and their projects during times of extended leave including those covered by the UCL Parental Leave and Pay Policy.
Carers Fund
The Cancer Institute has ring-fenced £10,000 of funding per annum for 5 years to help support personnel to balance their work and caring commitments. This fund supports care costs beyond that required to meet the normal contracted requirements of the job.

Case study: Carers Fund
"Having two young children it is often difficult to find childcare to attend conferences outside of working hours. Childcare can also be extremely expensive. I have been able to use the Carers Fund to pay for a childminder to look after my children, allowing me to attend the Lung Cancer Center of Excellence Winter Workshop in November 2018.
