UCL Alumni Volunteering Awards

5 April 2018

Our volunteers are key to our success as a university and as a truly global community now and in the future.

We are very grateful to alumni who give their time and skills to support the UCL community and whose efforts contribute to our success in It’s All Academic, the philanthropic fundraising Campaign for UCL.

Alumni Volunteer Awards Crowd in Room
For 2018 we are delighted to introduce our two new alumni volunteering awards: Alumni Volunteer of the Year and Alumni Group / Network of the Year. Through these awards we would like to give thanks and celebrate the outstanding efforts of our alumni volunteers across the globe who have given valuable time and expertise, enabling us to build a brighter future for our university and its students.

The winners will be presented their awards at the UCL Volunteering Services Unit Awards Ceremony on the 25 May 2018 in London and we hope to involve international winners via video link or live stream.

We are now accepting applications and would like to encourage staff, students and alumni to submit nominations for the awards. All alumni who have given their time to support the UCL community in the past three years are eligible and self-nominations will be accepted.

If you would like to submit a nomination please visitwww.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/UCLVolunteers. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday 18 April.

Examples of volunteering activity may include support for:

  • Student recruitment - offering advice to students, helping at open days or recruitment fairs
  • Student experience and employability - mentoring students, offering placements, internships and networking opportunities, supporting student societies
  • UCL Lifelong Community - organising reunions or alumni group activities, mentoring students or alumni, speaking at graduation
  • Championing UCL and the Campaign - speaking at UCL/OVPD events, acting as an influencer, making introductions to potential donors or supporters
