UCL has been particularly successful in securing funding through the EU's research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020, and welcomes the government's announcement that the UK will associate to the successor programme, Horizon Europe.

The breadth of UCL research on Brexit is captured in a single portal, the Brexit Hub, and features on the UCL Europe Blog.

The ERC's 2021 Work Programme is now open

ERC

The European Research Council (ERC) 2021 Work Programme is the first Horizon Europe Work Programme to be adopted by the European Commission, Europe's new Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for 2021-2027. It includes three main calls for proposals for frontier research actions for a total amount of €1.9 billion. Applicants based in the United Kingdom and countries associated to Horizon 2020 will still be able to apply on a conditional basis even if the association agreements are not yet in place. The first deadlines are now confirmed as 8 April 2021 (Starting Grants) and 20 April 2021 (Consolidator Grants). The Work Programme sets out how the ERC will allocate its funding for the corresponding year. Find out more.
