Logo lockups
Logo lockups, including packages for individual departments and units, are now available for the 11 faculties at UCL.
The horizontal logo should be used most often, as it is the preferred and most recognisable format.

Where logo lockups can't be used
Alongside our main logo or the UCL200 logo
Using more than one logo quickly looks like "logo soup". If multiple UCL entities are involved in a project, use the main UCL logo and write out the name of each entity in text.
Email signatures
Our email signature template includes an embedded UCL200 logo. Do not replace it with our main logo or a logo lockup.

No logos should be used. Use our brand colours or brand photography instead, making sure the design poses no accessibility or compliance issues.

Our new-look website already includes our logo and visual identity. Additional logos on pages look untidy and risk brand overkill.

Departments and faculties
The brand team has created logo lockups for individual faculties, departments and units. They are available now from the relevant faculty head of marketing, who is responsible for disseminating the files throughout their faculty.
VP and non-faculty
The brand team is currently mapping out logo lockups for VP and non-faculty teams, and will be rolling them out over the next few months.
In the meantime, VP and non-faculty teams should use our branded templates for marketing and promotional materials. Templates provide dedicated space for a department name alongside our UCL logo.
Department-branded templates
Our PowerPoint, digital screen and report cover templates provide dedicated space for a faculty or unit name alongside our logo.

Typography
Our brand typeface is unmistakeably UCL: designed especially for us, and according to our founding principle of being accessible to all.
Colour
Our signature purple palette is one of our brand’s most powerful ingredients. It should feature prominently in all our communications – not just the logo.
Graphic pillars
Inspired by the graduating pillars in our logo, these graphics represent progress and movement. Use them in any design, from captions and text boxes, to patterns that bring our brand to life.
Photography
Photography is our window onto life at UCL. Through it, our campus should feel alive, channelling our community and the energy that comes from being at the heart of one of the world's greatest cities.
Animations
Wherever you are in UCL, there's a sense of dynamism and possibility. Our animations help you add it to your videos, events and presentations.
