Q: Looking at our current process outlined in the workflow provided (also available on our intranet!), how can we ensure we A. facilitate an effective recruitment process, and B. ensure we avoid unnecessary delays in the ability of a researcher to commence their work

should we be thinking about a checklist that gets completed at the time the job is advertised so that HR and Central HR already know all of the checks and approvals that will be needed BEFORE the person starts (for example, OH clearance, DBS checks, BSU clearance, honorary NHS contract, research passport…)- KCL had such a checklist
What would it look like? Agree on actions
Roll-out quick wins identified for leavers; should we be doing something more automated once they have left? For example, what about their IT account? Shouldn’t that be closed as a default after 3 months unless otherwise specified? Report back at next team meeting(s)
