Wellbeing champions
Wellbeing champions support Wellbeing @UCL through effective signposting, knowledge of available support, organising and promoting wellbeing activities, and encouraging healthy lifestyles and positive mental health.
The Division of Psychiatry has Wellbeing Champions, Sandra Asante, Karen Hobbs, Rosie Niven and Pamela Thomas.
Quiet room
In Wing B there is a quiet room, which can be used for breastfeeding, expressing breastmilk, prayer, or simply as a quiet space. The room is on the left hand side of Wing B, behind meeting room 8.
Being Well at UCL
Being well at UCL is support initiative for the UCL community. You can find a wide-range of support on their website, however a few key resources available are:
- Spectrum.Life, employee assistance programme: Confidential, 24/7 mental health support in seconds by phone, WhatsApp or Live Chat. Speak to information experts on legal, financial, housing and family related issues. Support available for both personal and work-related matters. UK Freephone - 0808 196 5808
- SilverCloud: An ‘online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) platform, with a selection of self-paced programmes to equip you with skills to manage your mental health and wellbeing.
- UCL Learning and Development offer a blend of self-paced resources and interactive webinars covering all aspects of wellbeing, mental resilience, and how to lead wellbeing conversations with your colleagues.
- These include session on sleep, financial wellbeing and resilience.
- UCL Menopause guidance, guidelines for all employees on providing and receiving the right support to manage menopausal symptoms at work.
- UCL Occupational Health and Wellbeing provide a comprehensive occupational health service to assist UCL in promoting physical and psychological wellbeing and to help prevent illness and injury arising from work activity.
- Learn skills for a healthy mind, several activities and resources for maintaining a healthy mind, from tips to training programmes.

- Project Active Classes - Project Active is about feeling empowered and having fun, but most of all enjoying being active in whatever way works for you! We know sport isn't for everyone, but embracing an active lifestyle can not only help you feel physically stronger and fitter, it can also improve your mental wellbeing and resilience and is a great way way to make new friends. Project Active offer a range of low cost weekly classes for you to try out including Hatha Flow Yoga, Pilates, Box HIIT, Dance Fit and Barre. All classes are open to all UCL Students and Staff and best of all, every class costs just £1! If you want to find out more about Project Active and how to sign-up for a class then follow the link.
