Resuming testing at the ICN
Due to increased transmission risks associated with a new virus strain, as of April 19th, 2021, testing capacity has been limited to the Categories 1,2 & 3 (highlighted in green) of the diagram below. For Category 2 additional PPE is required. Categories highlighted in orange are not suitable for testing currently, unless exceptional permission is granted from Prof Sophie Scott and Prof Peter Fonagy

What do I need to think about prior to testing?
Has ethical approval been granted to resume testing?
Group leaders - Have you sent a copy of your ethical approval to sophie.scott@ucl.ac.uk & a.sterling@ucl.ac.uk?
Have you received a Covid safety induction from your group leader?
If you require an ICN managed testing room (G10, G16 etc), please complete the Testing room booking form and return to Beth ah.reception@ucl.ac.uk
Do you have adequate PPE for your experiment?
What category does your experiment fall under? See Appendix 5: ICN testing categories in the ICN TSOP to determine this.

Having determined which category of testing your experiment will come under by reading the above guide document, please now take some time to view this video to understand what you need to do to prepare before, during and after your testing session.
When booking a testing room and scheduling your participants please allow for pick up / drop off, aeration and cleaning times. For example, for a 30-minute experiment under categories 4-6 you will need to allow 1hrs 55min per session.
