Young Onset Dementia
Exploring the level of palliative care needs amongst people with young onset dementia
Project Information
The aim of my PhD is to better understand palliative care needs in people with young onset dementia.
In my cohort study, I plan to explore these needs using qualitative interview and data analysis of patient symptoms captured using the IPOS-Dem (Ellis-Smith et al 2018). This research is part of the EMBED-Care project and is linked with work stream three, which will investigate the unmet needs of those with dementia and their association with comfort, Quality of Life, service utilization, care transitions, carer experiences and costs, including novel work on young onset and prion dementias.
