Event	Description
Music Phonology Research Group	The Music Phonology Research Group is attended by staff, undergraduate and graduate students at UCL and usually takes place fortnightly during term-time in Chandler House, 2 Wakefield Street, London WC1N 1PF. A basic understanding of phonology principles is recommended, and a background in music is desirable but not essential. You don't need to sing or play any instruments (although you are welcome to), but you will be asked to listen and analyse songs within the macro-genre of rap and pop sung in English. Linguistics Short Courses	UCL Linguistics Short Courses is a short training programme for students of all levels with a goal of introducing students to a broad range of topics in linguistics. These 5-session courses are free to attend and open to everyone. Whether you’re accompanying your MA studies or just looking to dive deeper into these fascinating areas, we’ve got you covered.
LingLunches	LingLunch provides an opportunity for staff, students, and visitors to present work in progress or practice talks in a friendly atmosphere. Normally every other week on Wednesday afternoons during term time.
Syntax Reading Group	The Syntax Reading Group normally meet on Wednesday afternoons during term time, in-person, at Chandler House, 2 Wakefield Street, WC1N 1PF. Pleach check here for the information on the next meeting at the start of the next term, October 2025.
Advanced Core Training in Linguistics (ACTL )	ACTL is a graduate school in theoretical linguistics. We organise and coordinate a generic training program for PhD students in Linguistics.
