Research
We offer world-class experimental research aimed at advancing the understanding of the psychological and biological bases of behaviour.
Our work ranges from the physiology of neuronal computation through cognitive structure with a strong emphasis on ecological and social interactions.
Research themes
Centres and facilities

Birkbeck-UCL Centre for Neuroimaging (BUCNI)
BUCNI provides state of the art magnetic imaging facilities for Birkbeck and UCL staff, and promotes inter-institutional collaboration and innovation.

Institute for Behavioural Neuroscience (IBN)
The general theme of our work is “neurons and behaviour”. We are all neuroscientists who seek to understand how neural processes collaborate to create perception, cognition and behaviour.

Multi-modal Laboratory
Shared research facility including 3D motion tracking technology, gaze tracking techniques and panoramic cameras and microphones to capture and analyse natural interaction between people.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) facility
TMS includes equipment for conducting a wide range of non-invasive stimulation experiments including virtual lesion, chronometric, and motor-evoked potentials (MEP) studies.
