Meet Dr Elise Crayton
Elise has been part of the CBC since 2018, when she joined as a Research Fellow. Alongside her work at the Centre, she also serves as the Faculty of Brain Sciences Disability Equity Lead and Co-Chair of the Disability Equity Steering Group.
In her new role, Elise is focused on coordinating and developing the CBC’s consultancy and training activities - helping organisations and individuals to apply behavioural science to achieve real-world impact.
Hitting the ground running
Since in post, Elise has already hit the ground running. She has delivered training in Helsinki to 13 teams of public health and clinical healthcare professionals from across the EU. She has also worked with the UCL Strategic Change team, introducing how the Behaviour Change Wheel can support organisational change. Currently, Elise is advising on Behavioural Systems Mapping approaches to DG Cities, aiming to understand and design neighbourhood and place based strategies to improve digital inclusion of older adults.
In conversation with Elise
What are you most excited about in this new role?
It’s exciting to be in a position where I can help shape the CBC’s consultancy and training strategy, alongside Dr Lucy Porter (Bespoke Training & Consultancy Lead). We’ve built a strong reputation, and now we’re looking at how to scale that work - reaching new sectors, being even more responsive to emerging needs, and embedding equity and accessibility across everything we do.”
Where do you see opportunities for growth?
We’re seeing increased demand across health, climate, and organisational change settings. There’s also growing interest from international partners. A key priority will be ensuring we have the systems and capacity to meet that demand while maintaining the quality of our offer.”
What’s coming up next?
We’re refreshing our consultancy offer and exploring new options for our training. Watch this space - we’re looking forward to sharing more soon.”
