The awards event, held at UCL East on July 9th 2025, celebrated the individuals and teams across UCL who are driving positive environmental change, honouring the winners of this year’s Green Impact, LEAF, and Special Sustainability Awards, showcasing a wide range of achievements—from innovative sustainability initiatives to long-term dedication and everyday climate action. The event also offered attendees a first look at the new UCL Sustainability Plan. Sustainability Plan (2025–2035), which sets out our vision, goals, and actions for the years ahead.
Beatrice Anomah, Inclusion & Climate Justice Project Manager, Student’s Organising for Sustainability UK delivered a keynote speech and was joined by some fantastic speakers from across UCL: Harriet Waters – Director of Sustainability; Professor Lisa Vanhala – Pro-Vice-Provost, Climate Crisis Grand Challenge; Jason Clarke – Assistant Director of Sustainability; Alan Salazar Guerra – Student Sustainability Officer, Students’ Union UCL.
The awards below were made in recognition of the innovative best practice across the Institute, examples of which can be found on our Sustainability pages, and builds upon our success at previous awards.
