Dr Umesh Vivekananda (Wellcome Career Development Fellow, Deputy Head of Research Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, and Deputy Director of Q-BIOMED Hub) and other members of the Q-BIOMED hub (Professor Cristian Bonato, Dr Ravi Desai, Dr Benjamin Miller, Professor Dame Molly Stevens and Professor John Morton) have received the award.
Dr Vivekananda’s group will be applying AI tools to neurophysiological recording (MEG, EEG) in order to identify epilepsy and cognitive states in an automated fashion.
I am very excited to be working with the Q-BIOMED Hub in advancing our use of quantum technology for biomedical sensing within healthcare, twinned with AI approaches to the analysis of such data, in order to develop automated tools for clinicians.
