The UCL PALS Green Impact Team recently embarked on a memorable day trip to RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey, a stunning 240-acre garden renowned for its rich history, diverse plant collections, and picturesque seasonal displays. Wisley, the second most visited paid-entry garden in the UK, offered PALS team members a perfect retreat to recharge while exploring one of the world’s most admired horticultural destinations.

The Green Impact team, made up of around 90 academic staff, professional services staff, and students, is committed to driving sustainability efforts and has led PALS to become UCL’s greenest department for the past ten consecutive years. This trip, organised by Iona Robinson and Zoe Upton, was an opportunity to bring the team together, strengthen bonds, and celebrate their shared dedication to environmental sustainability.

John Draper, Head of Administration at PALS, expressed his enthusiasm for the outing, saying: "We all had a fantastic time, and it was a much-needed day out in this beautiful setting!"

A lunch of delicious vegetarian burgers added to the enjoyment, reflecting the team’s commitment to sustainability even in their food choices. The day was a perfect blend of fun and inspiration for the PALS Green Impact Team, who work year-round to make UCL a greener place.
