"On the 25th anniversary of his death I had the honour of delivering the MacDonald Critchley lecture at Apothecaries Hall. He took me under his wing encouraging me to study tics when the subject was off limits for a neurologist." Professor Andrew Lees

Macdonald Critchley was a Master Apothecary and in 1979 an unknown benefactor provided funds for a biennial lecture to celebrate the life and work of Macdonald Critchley. The lecturer is appointed by the Faculty of History and Philosophy of the Worshipful Association of Apothecaries and the lecture is delivered at Apothecaries Hall, Blackfriars.
