16 Brain Science professors featured among the world’s most-cited researchers of 2021
18 November 2021
16 professors from the Faculty of Brain Sciences have been included on Clarivate’s ‘Highly Cited Researchers 2021’ list, which names the 1,000 most cited researchers in the world.
The methodology used to determine the annual list of influential researchers draws upon data and analysis from Clarivate’s data scientists and bibliometric experts. This year, 48 academics from UCL were identified as authors of the most influential research papers around the world.
The Faculty of Brain Sciences had the highest number of academics from across UCL’s faculties included on with list. With 38 primary and 10 secondary affiliations, UCL has the 3rd most in the UK behind the universities of Oxford and Cambridge – and ranks 4th in Europe and 26th in the world overall.
Professor Alan Thompson, Dean of the Faculty of Brain Sciences, said:
“I am incredibly proud to see such positive representation from the Faculty of Brain Sciences in Clarivate’s 2021 list. Our academics work tirelessly in their respective fields to produce pioneering research that has real world impact, and this highlights the truly global significance of this work.
