Professor Tom Warner becomes President of the Association of British Neurologists

Professor Tom Warner is Professor of Clinical Neurology, Director of Reta Lila Weston Institute for Neurological Studies and Head of Queen Square Brain Bank at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology.

Professor Warner's higher neurological training was at the Royal Free Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (UCLH) and King’s College Hospital. He was appointed lecturer in neurogenetics at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and obtained his PhD at the University of London. In 2011 he was promoted to Professor of Clinical Neurology at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London. Since 2012 he has been Director of the Reta Lila Weston Institute and Head of the Queen Square Brain Bank, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology.

He specialises in disorders of movement and is and has particular expertise in Parkinson’s disease and allied conditions, dystonia, chorea, familial spasticity, Wilson’s disease and tremor. His major research interests are in Parkinson’s disease and dystonia both with clinical studies and trials and investigating the cellular pathogenesis of these conditions.

Professor Warner delivers his President's lecture at the ABN Virtual Meeting today and takes up his presidency until 2023.
