Research Assistant, Bioinformatics at the IoO

Job Details

The post would suit an ambitious individual with strong programming skills, an interest in genetics and research, and with prior bioinformatics experience in analysing short-read sequencing data (DNA-seq or RNA-seq) and running bioinformatics pipelines. The candidate will also be analysing whole-genome sequencing data in the Genomics England research environment with access to 100,000 genomes.

Key Requirements

The successful applicant should have a BSc degree in a relevant subject, strong programming skills, excellent communication skills, with an interest in learning new skills in a high-quality research environment. (S)he will be experienced in computer programming and running bioinformatics pipelines. Understanding of biology and genetics is not essential but the candidate must be willing to learn aspects relevant to their work.
