To be elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences is an honour and a privilege. In my work to translate gene and cell therapies for the benefit of people with sight impairment, I am fortunate to have the support of extraordinary teams of dedicated researchers at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields NIHR Biomedical Research Centre. I look forward with excitement to the opportunity to contribute to the Academy’s mission of advancing medical research for the benefit of society.
