Professor Adrian Isaacs (Professor of Neurodegenerative Disease) "My journey of discovery in frontotemporal dementia and motor neuron disease"

Professor Sebastian Crutch (Professor of Neuropsychology) "Posterior cortical atrophy: personal, scientific and artistic perspectives on a clinical syndrome"

Professor John Hardy and Professor Nick Fox gave votes of thanks respectively.

"It is a real thrill to be appointed a professor at UCL, and a fantastic reflection of the work I’ve been privileged to be a part of with my wonderful colleagues at the Dementia Research Centre, Rare Dementia Support, the Wellcome Hub Created Out of Mind residency and elsewhere in the UK and abroad. The inaugural lecture was a great opportunity to highlight the crucial role that many people living with a dementia have played in inspiring, shaping and improving the work we do. Through sharing their lived, subjective experiences, they have enabled us to bring scientific, artistic and other tools, skills and perspectives to bear on understanding more about both the experience and biology of their conditions. Presenting this person-centred research alongside such a talented colleague in Adrian Isaacs who does inspirational work at the genetic level really impressed on me once again how lucky I am to work in a place that embraces such a richness and diversity of dementia science". Professor Sebastian Crutch
