The Faculty of Brain Sciences has announced the
addition of a new Institute - the Institute of Prion Diseases, taking
the number of research Institutes and Divisions in the Faculty up to
seven.
As part of this move, the existing MRC Prion Unit at the UCL Institute of Neurology
will transfer as a University Unit into the Institute, becoming part of
the Faculty of Brain Sciences and School of Life and Medical Sciences.
The Institute of Prion Diseases will deliver a national
centre of excellence which pursues a major long-term research strategy
in Prion and related diseases.
