Congratulations to Helena Thornley and Samantha Sim, both MSc Speech and Language Sciences graduates, who have won the Tavistock Trust for Aphasia University Student Prize.
The prize is awarded for excellence in work related to Aphasia. They share this prize for their excellent final year projects.
Helena’s project: “The influence of emotional valence on word recognition in people with aphasia” was supervised by Dr Carolyn Bruce and Dr Caroline Newton.
Samantha’s project: “The comparison of language abilities measured by self-rated and performance scores in stroke patients” was supervised by Professor Cathy Price.
