LGBTQ+ Research Showcase 2024

The Faculty of Brain Sciences’ LGBTQ+ Committee host it's 2nd Annual LGBTQ+ Research Showcase.

The event was a wonderful opportunity for LGBTQ+ staff, students, and allies at UCL to come together and engage with the groundbreaking work being done by LGBTQ+ Early Career Researchers (ECRs). We were also thrilled to see participation from ECRs researching subjects related to the LGBTQ+ community.

Throughout the day, we heard a series of insightful short presentations, each just 15 minutes, showcasing the important contributions of LGBTQ+ ECRs at UCL and those studying LGBTQ+ identities. The event concluded with a dynamic panel discussion and Q&A session, where attendees engaged with issues affecting LGBTQ+ researchers in academia.

The event successfully fostered connections, celebrated diverse voices, and provided a platform for underrepresented research. Catering and refreshments were provided, so attendees had the chance to network and build a supportive community within neuroscience and beyond. It was a free, inclusive day of learning, celebrating, and connecting with fellow LGBTQ+ researchers and allies!

Have a look at the short research talks and panel discussion presented during the event.
