Welcome to IoO Microscopy unit
The Imaging Unit at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology is a core facility providing microscopy services and access to several light and electron microscopes. Our unit is located in the Cayton Street basement, home to our electron microscopes and some of the confocal systems. We also have live cell microscopes in locations across the building and animal imaging systems on the third floor BRU.
Here you will find information on the range of microscope instruments, techniques and services that are available to staff and students. We are also open to clients from outside the institute and regularly perform work for other departments, academic institutions and businesses.
Our small and friendly team provides technical consultation and ongoing support to help researchers achieve high-quality imaging data. Come see us in our office, room B03, phone us on 0207 608 6830 (Microsoft Teams phone) or contact us via our group email ioo.imaging@ucl.ac.uk. We can advise on the best protocols and the most suitable equipment for your imaging.
