Medical Illustration provides a comprehensive photography service for Queen Square staff.

Whether you require a group photograph, patient clinical image or PR photography, we can produce specfic imagery tailored to what you require, providing the highest quality service for Queen Square staff. Our staff are highly qualified and experienced in the application of photography to medicine and have full registered status with the National Register of Medical Illustration Practitioners through CAMIP and are members of the Institute of Medical Illustrators, the national body which exists to uphold technical and ethical standards within Medical Illustration.

Photography services we provide:   

Clinical patient photography requests can be carried out in our studio, NHNN department/ward/operating theatres, and other locations around Queen Square. Clinical patient photography requests should be emailed to ion.medicalillustration@ucl.ac.uk and include the following: full patient details, diagnosis, hospital/MRN number, consultant name, location of shoot, prefered date and time and your contact details. Service requests are carried out Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Our studio provides all the necessary requirements to produce the images that you require. Whether a portrait image or medical objects and equipment, we can capture the image you require. Service requests are carried out Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. PR requests, most of which are listed below, can be produced to meet your specfic requirements, or those of third parties. Service requests are carried out Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Please email ion.medicalillustration@ucl.ac.uk to book your request or for further information.

Whether you require a department group photo in the Queen Square gardens or a group photo during your event/conference in our lecture theatres, requests should be emailed to ion.medicalillustration@ucl.ac.uk along with location, date and time, and roughly the number of people included in the shot. Service requests are carried out Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

We are able to digitise negatives, 35mm slides, prints and documents. We don't provide a restoration service.

Negatives and slides are coloured balanced, cropped accordingley and saved as HQ JPEG or TIFF.

Documents are scanned on a flat bed scanner and we can accomadate up to A3 size documents.
