Our Cell Imaging and Microscopy platform provides state-of-the-art light microscopy facilities for quantitative investigations of fixed- and live cells and tissue samples.
A dedicated team supports researchers throughout the process of imaging: from initial experiment design, sample preparation and selecting an appropriate microscope, to image processing and visualisation.
Imaging systems include spinning-disk and scanning confocal microscopes, STED and Airyscan super-resolution systems, brightfield and fluorescence microscopes for longitudinal studies of live samples, multi-photon systems for deep tissue and intravital imaging, as well as other advance optical techniques (FLIM, FRET, TIRF).

Our Impact
This technology platform offers our researchers cutting-edge imaging of cells and tissues, far beyond the power of standard microscopes and a range of advanced techniques, enabling detailed observation of cells and biological processes to help us gain insights into neurological diseases and potential treatments. For example, common techniques involve using fluorescent dyes to highlight specific cell components, revealing what is happening in real-time as diseases progress.
