Dream Under Microscope

Dream Under Microscope is a collaborative project between artists Georgia Akbar and Shelley Hastings, Research Technician Annarita Scardamaglia, and a group of co-creators connected to the dementia charity Resonate Arts. 

It will explore a playful process of ‘close looking’ where lab-created microscopic images are used as ‘kindling’ to spark expansive, generative responses, drawing on the unique creative strengths of people living with dementia. It will also investigate how we can reimagine the tools of diagnosis – microscopes, petri dishes, cellular images, and use them as instruments of artistic interpretation. 

Our workshop groups will move from subject to storyteller, using these varied elements to explore and express their own perspectives.
