This highly specialised multi-disciplined team includes three dedicated surgeons for pituitary adenomas and related benign skull base pathologies; and two dedicated surgeons for chordomas, chondrosarcomas, and other malignant skull base pathologies. They work alongside endocrinologists, ophthalmologists, pathologists, radiologists, oncologists, and specialist nurses. All supported by the advanced resources of the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and linked with multiple specialist endocrine and ophthalmic units in London and across the country and beyond.
Surgery
Surgeons specialising in pituitary adenoma and related benign skull base pathologies:
Mr Neil Dorward, Consultant Neurosurgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer
- Clinical Lead for Pituitary and Endoscopic surgery
- Transferred to fully endoscopic pituitary surgery 2007 and has been at the forefront of developing extended endoscopic skull base surgery ever since
- Is the lead trainer of endoscopic transsphenoidal techniques and lead supervisor for the RCS Senior Surgical Fellowship in Pituitary Surgery at NHNN
- Inaugural President of the British Neuro-Endoscopy Society

Prof David Choi, Consultant Neurosurgeon and Professor of Neurosurgery
- Graduated with a first-class degree in medical sciences from Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and went on to complete clinical medicine at Edinburgh University, basic surgical training at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and started neurosurgical training at the Glasgow Institute of Neurological Sciences
- Obtained a PhD in neuroregeneration at the National Institute for Medical Research, London, and completed higher surgical training in neurosurgery at Atkinson Morley's Hospital, London, and the NHNN
- Appointed as a consultant in neurosurgery in 2005 and is presently professor of neurosurgery

Prof Stephanie Baldeweg, Consultant Endocrinologist, UCLH
- Clinical Lead for Diabetes and Endocrinology
- Leads the organising committee for the National Pituitary Conference held annually at the Royal College of Physicians in London
- Training programme director for Diabetes and Endocrinology in London for many years, worked as Associate Director for Higher Specialty Training for 16 medical specialties at UCL Partners, and then as Associate Academic Dean at Health Education England
- Trustee and Vice Chair of the Medical committee of The Pituitary Foundation
- Chair of the Clinical Committee of the Society for Endocrinology
