Why did you choose to study your programme and what made you choose UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience?

I chose to study at UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience because it is one of the world's leading research institutes, offering well-established programs in the area.

What do you enjoy most about your programme?

I enjoyed my time with the UCL Neuroscience and Mental Health group, where I completed my empirical research project and learned from some of the world's leading researchers in the field of cognitive neuroscience. I learned to create more rigorous and transparent research and look at research with a critical eye. There are also lots of laughter, heated debates (mainly between the PIs) and inspiring conversations happening outside of the formal lab meetings.

What advice would give prospective students thinking of studying at UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience?

Imposter syndrome is very real, but that's OK. You do belong here. Just be excited, be prepared to work hard, and look forward to it.

What are your plans for the future once you have completed your degree?

I'm thinking about pursuing a PhD. I hope my academic pursuit will translate into contributions to Hong Kong (my home country) and beyond.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your time at UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience?

I'm also grateful for the friendships I've made during my time at UCL (the Bayesian Babez!) My peers are from around the world; my worldviews are widened and challenged somehow. We also share the joy and frustrations throughout the year and dream about running our own research labs one day!
