Additional information for in person participants:
Venue: Kennedy Lecture Theatre, Institute of Child Health, 30 Guilford Street, London, WC1N 1EH. The nearest tube station is Russell Square on the Picadilly line. If needed, please mention to the security personnel at the reception that you are here for the Hot Brain conference when you come through the main door. There will be signs to direct you to the conference registration desk.
Registration: Please come to the registration desk outside the Kennedy Lecture Theatre on your arrival and pick up your name badge.
Fire alarm: If you hear the fire alarm please immediately exit the building by the nearest fire exit. Members of the organising team will instruct as to the location of the fire exits and assembly point at the beginning of the conference.
Accessibility needs: Please speak to a member of the organising team at the registration desk if you have any accessibility needs.
If you feel unwell please speak to one of the organising team or security at the front reception desk and we can help you. The organising team have a blue dot on their badges.
Any safeguarding concerns can be raised with a member of the organising team. The safeguarding rep is Marisa Goulden. The organising team have a blue dot on their badges.
Coats and bags. We do not have an attended cloakroom but coats can be left on the hanging rails near the entrance to the building, at your own risk. Please ask at the registration desk if you have a large bag. It is important that the gangways in the lecture theatre are kept clear.
Photography: Please note that there will be a photographer present for some of the event and photos taken on the day may be used in blogs, webpages or articles about the event. If you do not wish to appear in any photos, please speak to an organiser at the registration desk and collect an orange sticker to wear to alert the photographer.
Wi-Fi: You can connect to Wi-Fi in the Lecture Theatre using UCL Guest. You will need to sign in. For further information on how to connect see Connecting to UCLGuest Wi-Fi via The Cloud
Refreshments
A vegetarian sandwich lunch will be provided (with some plant-based options also available). If you mentioned any food allergies when you registered, you will receive a separate email from the organiser who will confirm what arrangements have been made for you. Please also speak to an organiser on the day (organisers have a blue dot on their name badge). We may not be able to cater for any allergies that have not already been communicated to us.
Please can we ask that no food or drink is taken into the lecture theatre.
Poster exhibition There will be a display of research posters in the foyer area where refreshments are served. We invite you to view them and talk to the researchers during the breaks and over lunch.
CPD credits Hot Brain 4 has been approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 6 category 1 (external) CPD credits. Participants can request a certificate of attendance by completing the event evaluation survey (look out for an email that will be circulated after the event). Please ensure that you registered on arrival so that we know you attended.
